I hope you read Makran Waingankar's column this week in Hindu. He has stated that we lack a system to nurture our pace bowlers and upcoming pacers too. The system which Australia has in place, England had in place when Troy Cooley was there.
We can see how far the injury prone Tait and other younger bowlers have come in Australia.
Just having a week long fitness camp specifically for bowlers isn't going to gain much, I'm afraid

Makarand Waingankar is now the CEO of the Baroda Cricket Association.
Incidently, Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan, Yousuf Patahan, Rashid Patel all play for Baroda. Paras Mhambrey has been recruited as their coach starting this season.
He is in a position to put in place a system that works. he has, as coach, one of the better bowler/coaches in the country. He has, in his wings, some of the budding prospects in the country.
Proof.. pudding.. eating
It is not about just an association. If BCCI doesn't do it, its not going to help the country.
Yesterday I had gone to CA to read about their CoE structure. You feel so happy that things are so streamlined there. I still couldn't get a clear idea as to how it works the whole year, yet, here sitting in Delhi, I could know so much about what is happening there in Brisbane, while can't know a thing about what is happening in Bangalore!
Such a tragedy!!

Its an apples and oranges comparison.
A beginning has to be made somewhere. We cannot expect the BCCI to do it and quite frankly, why should they?
Here is an idea. Here is the originator of that idea. He is in a position of power and influence. Shouldn't it be incumbent on him to implement those ideas and, if successful, that implementation can be taken across the country and customized, depending on region and needs?
How can one shoe size fit all?
As regards the CoE and the CA, there is a lot we can learn from them.
The onus of that is on the BCCI.
And if they don't shape up, its their funeral.
It looks like it'll be their funeral in very near future when Sachin, Kumble and Dravid retire.
Can you imagine what will happen to India even again countries like Bangladesh?

Any thoghts on why Raina is so hyped. He yet hadn't had an outstanding Domestic Season like where he decimated bowling attacks.

That report is based on what the English saw when he played against them in 2005/06.
Between then and now, there was South Africa, West Indies, Malaysia, India. And like you said, he did not have a great domestic season either. And now the ACL injury.
How good is he? Chappell thought he was right up there. How good is he now? We dont know.
Can he live up to the hype? Time will tell.
I don't think Raina is as good as people think so. More than that, he is just aweful again short-pitch deliveries and is not very strong outside the off-stump as well.
I think India/Chappell did great disservice to him and hampered his development by including him for the national squad. 'A' tours during this period would have been useful to him.
God knows why BCCI is not going for 'A' tours even in this off-season!! Looks like it is not concerned at all.
