lets all of us together find a way to make a roar so high that even deaf and blind BCCI hears it...sees it…
for starter…
lets flood them with “queries” which they can not ignore…
lawyers friend file petitions, the one who are in print post scathing articles the one who are in electronic media ask for live interviews of BCCI honchos where audience literally rape them with questions and promises they made. whatever but we should do something…
when they can invite politician for live discussions why not a program devoted to this where fan interact with one of the honchos of BCCI...

otherwise we all will be burning lots of energy in shooting of posts comments and nothing will change…
Vengsarkar can't manufacture great talent.. If it is agreed that the issue is systemic, then clearly it is solutions to that which would be helpful. Putting DBV in the spot is not going to help - because hell, he's one of the best people at BCCI.
Especially in the matter of scouting talent, i think the BCCI is doing fine - whatever talent has been identified has been pretty good talent - some of it has been unbelievable - Dhoni.
The point is there are systemic changes necessary - to the domestic structure on the one hand, and to the BCCI structure which requires a cricketing counterpart to Mr. Shah.
So how can those changes be brought Mr Kartikeya? We can't even approach them!
How to even convey to them about the changes or systems we think is necessary?
Straightpoint's idea is good but the media persons write only what would catch eyeballs and an average fan is clearly not interested in the process. He only wants results.
I've contacted many sports writers and sent them the question, the answer of which are dearly sought by us. But no reply!

unless until we get a person who has little sense of self esteem with enough strength gets appointed as BCCI president (which is rarest of rare case) or mr pawar gets some divine power and change of heart overnight i am afraid nothing can be done...
correct me homer, if i am wrong, but the structure of BCCI is such that nobody can interfere from outside...i dare say not even Supreme court...otherwise it would have happened much earlier.
i said in one of my previous post that it is WE who can change this...by non-cooperate movement (remember all BCCI understands is money and if we the spectator are not willing the sponsor will not come. Ireland series goof up being the case in point) by influencing our peer group who are in media to nudge them to start making a noise which becomes so unbearable that the would be compelled to do things...
remember some one has done it before...british were like BCCI today in the sense that they were supreme, not approachable, not challengeable but even they could not do away with mass retaliation...
BIG words one would say...but not much distant past we the MASS created such an impact that authorities were compelled to re-open the case of certain "JESSICA"...remember!!!
if we start speculating in our next move (like chandan said about my media peroson's suggestion) then beleive me we would end up with nothing... we have to start even with small steps...
and if media undertands only eyeball issue lets give them enough of it...

DBV is in a position to influence that systemic change, if not bring it about himself.
The reason his qualifications were put in the post is for this very reason.

The health of the game is important to the BCCI's survival. Else, the game will fade away and we, the spectators, will gravitate to other sports.
It is in the BCCI's interest to better the standards of the game in India.
But BCCI cares zilch for the game. All they want is money and power with no accountability, no syttem to stop the gundaraj!!

Its not that easy. The average fans, and they outnumber us as 10:0.01 ratio, are not interested in these kind of news either. all they want is gossip so that they can abuse the persons they know and they happen to be players only.
Media will just not carry on a campaign or such thing to educate this mass!
I don't think theres any good that can come out of getting into finger pointing and name calling. Its fun and its probably quite righteous, but its not a viable way to proceed in my view.
Broadly, there has to be an accurate and rigorous knowledge of what the BCCI has actually done in the last 7 years or so (post match-fixing). How far have they come in the past 7 years, how far do they need to go?
By pointing fingers, we fall into the same trap as the press - hitting the easiest target, whats more, just as it is in the case of the press, it makes no difference and neither will it ever - because the criticism is as hollow as the hollowness of effort which needs to pointed out, but isn't.
I prefer to do it by offering ideas - sometimes more silly and sometimes less so. So far, ive realized that there are two main areas which need to be addressed
1. Domestic Cricket
2. The BCCI's top level organizations communication - both within and with the press.
With the upcoming website, it seems obvious to me that this could be a good way to address the second issue. I have therefore proposed in one my recent posts, that they could go even further and conduct their committee work via a wiki on the website. Is this unlikely to be taken seriously as a solution? Probably. Is it a great solution (lets throw in cable broadband with unlimited downloads and uploads, paid for by BCCI for all working committee and other select committee members :) ) ? I think its the only workable solution, because helps everybody out, without intruding on anyone.
Cricket is not important enough to require a popular revolution (or even personal ridicule aimed at anybody in a position of responsibility). But it is definitely useful enough to break new ground and try out and establish new ways of doing things.

And nothing will be done by BCCI because it doesn't want to do anything. It doesn't care for the game!
And now LALU MIGHT BECOME BCCI CHAIRMAN IN 2008.
So we shouldn't think of improvement.

we can suggest changes required till cow comes home...but the point is who is going to implement them...
its not about pointing fingure...had they had guts even 10& of the professionalism we expect from them we would not be discussing them here...
theres always going to be different view points about what any organisation do or dont do...but here its sheer arrogance to the level of utter mediocrity.
i would again say they will not change untill unless forced to take decisions...and its only WE who can change things...
its again no good to keep on harping about the our minority (as chandan said we are) its about atleast doing something together and we dont know maybe tomorrow more people joing the bandwagon seeing the goods...
or we should just keep on dissecting, keep posting comments, for the sheer benefit of overcoming our frustrations which also is not a bad idea coz atleast it takes the venom out of us if not the system...
i disagree. I also don't agree that they are as bad as they are made out to be. they are honorary office bearers. given the amount of money the board makes, should they appoint professional executives to run things? probably. but it is not criminal to refrain from doing so.
its not about that they should appoint professionals or not its entirely their discretion...but the point is whats stopping them to do the things in professional way...is it a rule written somewhere that if a person is doing honorary job is not supposed to do things in professional way???
even after trying hard i cant remember any promise being fulfilled by current regime...
its what they promised...we didn't asked for professionals, transparency among other things...why promise if you cant keep your words...
latest good up is the "leak of two page letter" they have given to players...
here whats interesting is not that they have gaged players about discipline, dressing room leaking etc...but the "leaking" of the paper itself and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to judge who might have leaked them to media...
its a sheer tamasha by BCCI that look we are serious about indian cricket...this is how their letter starts...
