Something happened at Trent Bridge today - England were going swimmingly at 287/3, the new ball had been tonked to the tune of 17 runs in two overs.
The real Sreesanth had gone AWOL, Michael Vaughan was playing like a dream, England led by 4.
And just like that, the game turned on its head.
Just like that.
And just like that, pessimism turned to optimism, drooping shoulders and heads gave way to a spring in the steps and the chuntering started in full earnest.
Long story short, India needs 63 runs to win in 90 overs with 10 wickets in hand.

How would you rate this vis a vis Headingley 2002( which IMHO was the most complete Indian Test performance).
And where does Trent Bridge 2007 rank in the pantheon of Indian victories?

Headingley 2002 would be notched above this victory. One : the margin of victory was great by an innings. Two : India scored their highest score abroad (untill 705/7 in Sydney happened) on a track which is typical seamers paradise where even Boycs' mom would take 5 wkts with the ball. Three : Every one chipped in with some useful contribution. The big 3 scored 100s, laxman a breezy 50. Kumble and Bhajji were among wkts too.
Fourth : That was a come from behind victory after the tables were turned on the same venue as the present test.
Said that, today s probable victory would still be one of the India s best and current team s another feather in the cap.
This will be an important win for India after recent disappointments and the turn around from Lords. The Headingley win was more dominant and complete.
It is particularly good to see a happy team enjoying and playing well together as a team. It bodes well for them in the future.

This win comes closest to the Headingley performance. Adelaide and Multan and Rawalpindi and to an extent Jo'burg were on the back of a superlative individual performance.
While Trent Bridge was a win in which everyone chipped in, quite like Headingley but, as Rashmika says, not quite as dominant.

I would rate the Headingley victory higher than this one. But also remember one thing, the team that England has in 2007 is far better than what they had in 2002, despite a brand new seam attack.
Also Indian team in 2002 was in much better form and shape than it is in 2007.
