Oct 27: India Green v/s India Blue
Oct 28: Final
All in all ,not a bad selection at all.
The selectors have done well to play those India players who have not had much match practice during the current Australia tour while resting those who have been playing non-stop ( through the Twenty 20s and the 7 ODI set).
The selection also gives the India players pause between the end of the Australia series ( Oct 17) through the beginning of the Pakistan series ( Nov 6).
All in all, a job well done.

Media is going gung ho here on the exclusion / rest of big 3. They have found another item to chew on. "Its a sign of the things to come that no one wants the disrupting influence of 3 big guys in the dressing room" said Times now.
Jerks!!!!
How likely is it that the Indian selectors will leave one of the 'big 3' out of the upcoming Australian tour in order to bring a younger player into the mix?
Losing all three at around the same time will leave India with a significant loss of experience, and that could be a major problem if they don't strategically phase the three greats out.
Sam,
Thanks for your comments.
"Its a sign of the things to come that no one wants the disrupting influence of 3 big guys in the dressing room" and this for the Challengers... The things people will do for eyeballs :)
Cheers
Stuart,
Extremely unlikely that the Big 3 will be dropped for the Test series ( against Pakistan and Australia).
I have a feeling that we may see the rotation policy in full swing starting with the Pakistan series.
England should have been a good time to blood some of the youngsters but then, winning the series became a priority.
Ditto this current series against Australia. And bringing in new kids now for the remaining two games opens us to criticism of not trying hard enough to draw the series and of hiding the senior players. And gives the Australians enough ammunition for the series later this year.
The ROI selection, inducting Badrinath for the last two ODIs against Australia and now the Challenger selections leads me to believe that the older players in the team will be used more sparsely in the ODI format, although they are integral to India's fortunes in the longer form of the game for at least another season or so.
Cheers
