our captain is- vide all the gushing in the mainstream media over his "cerebral" captaincy
Last ball of the 9th over- batsman charges the bowler and gets a 4.So what does our "cerebral" captain do to stem the flow of runs - take the second power play..
Last ball of the 10th over - batsman charges and tonks a six over third man.
We have been down this road before - remember the Windies run chase at Malaysia?
But have we learnt any lessons?

relax homer..... you could probably nitpick like this about every India captain since Vizzy if you had footage.
Dravid has a better record defending low scores than Ganguly....
Tamim Iqbal is playing well.... and the skippers just dropped a tough chance off his bowling....
Can it be worse..
Kartikeya
God resides in the details :)
The dismissal of Tamim Iqbal has provided India with a lifeline. Can we get a couple of more wickets now?
I agree with Karthikeya and don't think there is much to criticize on power plays. Iqbal went berserk only in the 11th over anyway after the powerplay was taken. Before that he only had a top-edged 6 over third man.
Vinod,
Point is, these guys talk so much about " game situations" and "processes" and "learning" so my question is - we have been down this road before, we have seen similar match situations play out, we know our objective is to put the pressure back on Bangladesh- then why is there such a huge gap between what we say and what we do?
Possibly because they don't want to relax the pressure by letting Bangladesh get easy singles.
Theres two ways of looking at every situation.... you can't nit pick in everything he does - purely because by default you will always ignore every move that works.
And - when you win more than you lose, it suggests that things work more often for you than they don't.
Fair point Kartikeya.
Yeah I agree with Karthikeya. And lets face it, Tamim just chanced his arm and it paid off today. They were chsing a short total and they just needed one batsman to swing his bat and take a few chances and it worked. They have some good pressure applied now and lets see if we can hold on.
What are the tie-breaking rules for qualifying? We need to start considering a remote possibility of India-SL-Bangladesh being tied with 2 wins each. I say remote because that would mean India defeating SL
