Nimbus Communications, the telecast rights holder for cricket matches in India for five years, has proposed a one-third reduction in the fee by $180 million.Now why would those pests over at Nimbus want to deny the good folk at the BCCI all that money? Dont they realize that without the extra money, the BCCI will go comatose- after all, how else will the honchos at the BCCI justify their power trips ?

Sources say that lowering of rights fee is ‘one’ of the suggestions made to the board. “Increasing the number of games to be played in India is another option before BCCI. The board could also try a mix of both the options,” a source close to the development said.

DDCA is full of fucking morons. Not that the other associations are any better...
Why oh Why can't our associations be run better? Why can't we use the obscene amount of money BCCI has to better our stadiums? I know I know...too much money in the game attracts greedy bastards...

You are not the only one banging your keyboard in frustration. It is a sentiment shared by a whole load of Indian fans.

I have no issues with the BCCI making money - of all the sporting bodies in India, they are the only ones to market and generate profits.
That said, I do not like this whole premise of organizing more games ( at the drop of a hat at times) just to bump up revenues. And I have written about it- plenty of times.
The other issue I have with the BCCI is that, granted you are a billion dollar institution , so what is being done to propogate the game at the grass roots? And what is being done on the in-stadia infrastructure and cricketing infrastructure as a whole?
Our associations are badly run, our in stadia facilities suck, fans are treated like crap, we do not have more academies - the ones we do are going to seed.
So, the money making part - no issues. The money spending part - plenty of issues :)
