India- Bangladesh itinerary announced

Just wondering- Do our suits ever factor in mundane things like weather, player wear-out, logistics and such like when they sit down and come up with an itinerary like this?

It will be terribly hot...

However it might be a good chance to rest some of the big guns, especially if we have a good world cup.

Throw Raina, Bose, Powar, Badrinath, Sharma and co in at the deep end. May be have Kaif captain the side. I don't think Bangladesh can demand the full team can they?

If Zaheer wants to play county cricket, he should probably do that instead of playing in Dhaka.

I would take what Kartikeya has said further and say that for the 3 ODI set against Australia in Ireland and the 3 ODI set against Pakistan in England, we should send our next genration of players. Indfact, even for the 7 ODIs against England and Australia, let us send in Gen Next.

Nobody will care for these ODIs anyways ( given the plethora of ODIs lined up for India in the next year), we will achieve our stqted ambition of grooming Gen Next, Test Cricket will get its due and we will be able to preserve our players for bigger challenges ( and identify a few more talented ones along the way).

Really like that thought, homer. I think we should rest Sachin and Saurav for those series but must have at least one senior to guide these youngsters.

Dropping the players is one part of the debate but who replaces them? Do we randomly pick out names from a hat or should there be some purpose behind blooding those youngsters?
