Even as Rahul Dravid & Co will be busy negotiating the Bangladeshis for much of next month, the Indian cricket Board will be conducting a full-fledged summit of the pitches and grounds committee.

In fact, this is the first time that the Pawar-led BCCI administration has undertaken a full-fledged summit of the pitch committee members. The last time all the five zonal heads got together and met the BCCI top brass was way back in 2002-03, when the then Board chief Jagmohan Dalmiya convened the pitch committee’s summit in Kolkata.
Don't they realize that when they open their mouths, their collective credibility goes for a toss.

The BCCI officials are counting on the foolish public who have no timer to go a little deep and find out the reasons for our dismal performance. And astonishingly, they are being successful in it too. Not one or two but the majority of common cricket fans are buying their logic!
I was talking about how Saurav got a clean chit within hours after Pawar gave that controvertial interview on CNN-IBN yesterday!

That indeed is surprising. When did Pawar talk to any young player--before WC or after the WC? And did that young player talk on phone to Pawar? Otherwise media would have easily dug out which player/players Pawar met!! The guy is lying --as simple as that!
He is a politician and is trying to use his tricks which he uses to deflect the criticism in parliament when questions are raised about farmers committing suicide because of drought! This time he thought that the senior players would be the perfect scapegoats because public was already angry at their failure!
Hence this lie!! Can you see Indian cricket going down and further down under him?? I for one, clearly can!!!

Take any Board President of recent vintage ( Bindra, Dalmiya, Muthiah, RS Mahendra, Pawar) and tell me which of these guys have done anything concrete for Indian cricket?
Its a question of picking your poison, just the degree varies - the end result is the same.
Even if I hate to say it, Dalmiya has done the most for Indian cricket especially after the match fixing scandal. He just felt unsecure for last 1 year of his tenure and hence spent more time in politics than on cricket matters.

Dalmiya was an autocrat; no different from any of the other white starched shirts who have occupied the post of BCCI President.
Like I said, we can argue about the degrees, but the end result has been the same in all cases.
PS - The matchfixing scandal broke when Dalmiya was President. he is therefore directly responsible for the mess in the first place. Why applaud him for a patchy clean up job?

Mc Muthaiah was the president of BCCI then and it was he who banned Azhar and Sharma etc.
Out of the people you mentioned, I picked Dalmiah. But certainly whatever he did was just 0.1% of the actual task that needs to be done.
BTW, Have you read the suggestions which Rahul Mehra gave to BCCI through High court? Its a detailed document!
