2-0 Australia and a very convincing 2-0 at that. Congratulations to Ricky Ponting and his team for not giving the Proteas even a sniff. Very ruthless, very old school Australian.
So the ICC mace stays with the Australians for a little while longer while the South Africans introspect on what might have been.
Good game. And well played.

I dont remember where I argued that Ponting will redeem himself again and star in "The Redemption Man" which will bag 10 oscars next year :-). Well, not the Oscar bit but I did call him redemption man somewhere. Were you predicting a SA win?
Sigh! Now that bugger's gonna win the Ashes, score another score of centuries, thousands of runs and retire with all the records as batsman and captain. Bloody fate!
Raj,
My Ashes prediction is here
Cheers :),
Sigh! That link is where I made the redemption man prediction. Of all things that I predict on comment boxes, THIS had to come true :-(
Who is going to stop him from marching to the "Highest Run Aggregate in Test Career", and "Highest number of centuries in Test Career" landmark?
Answer: No one. Unfair!unfair!unfair!
20 years from now, people from a certain country will be calling Ricky the second best batsmen of all time quoting these records, conveniently ignoring Sachin and Lara. That will just reflect on their stupidity but why should it be allowed to happen? :-( :-)
Raj,
Bowlers? Form?
Cheers,
homer, no, nothing will stop him now. The guy is destiny;s child. See how many dropped chances per century he gets. And then the umpires in Oz who never gave him lbw as a matter of national principle while giving Tendular shoulder before wicket.
Raj,
If he does, more power to him.. Catches being dropped are not his problem, capitalizing on those chances are.
And he does it as well as anyone.
Cheers,
its the bloody Indians who are contenders to beat and dislodge aussies. no others. just nobody.
Sam,
India does not play Australia till 2011.
We play the Saffers later this year :)
Cheers,
