My comment on Akash Chopra's latest offering on Cricinfo.
I fully expect this comment to not see the light of the day - it is not in keeping with the usual "how great you are Akash" theme that forms the bulk of the comments.
Will Mr Chopra please own up to some personal responsibility instead of whingeing about everything under the sun?
First there was the DDCA who were to blame for Mr Chopra not seeing Gautam Gambhir score a double ton, now it is the scheduling that is responsible for Delhi's current predicament.
How about admitting the fact that Delhi's batsmen, led by their captain, are not good enough or bat long enough to give their bowlers some rest?
And finally "In the past I would have tried to prevent people from scoring easy centuries" - nice way to belittle the achievements of your peers.. Just what is expected from the captain of the National Champions!

i agree with you on this...100%...homer...they have been miserable on field...
but this does not take away the point he is raising...that is equally pertinent...lets not miss that...
Fielding first in all the 3 matches does not help. Missing the Indian team players as well.
But its true Champions League has messed up the Ranji schedule.
I think it is the Matt Prior flu that has taken over Akash. They talk funny.

It is the same schedule for all teams.. And Mr Chopra should have known about the schedule wee in advance, so it is not like he has been blindsided.
I think the man is not owning up to responsibility, starting from that "Not a bad loss" after losing the Md Nissar Trophy.

There is also the fact that there is the knockout with the plate league teams leading up to the Ranji finals.
Fielding first or second, Delhi has 0 centuries thus far - Cheteshwar Pujara has more :)

My point is that the man has been deflecting responsibility for everything - heck, on his blog on CI, there is not ONE inimical comment on the man or his writing - he likes to live in a cocoon!
About the bowlers getting tired, if the Delhi batsmen spend a little more time at the crease, there would not have been much cause for complaint.
But hey, with the captain making excuses, I dont expect anything different!
