Why cant it be, that for once, it is Mumbai at the winning end of a close game? Either lose heavily or close the damn game.. This edge of the seat, here comes the cardiac arrest tension is not on.
And not fair.

One word mate - Bottle. Some teams and players have it and some don't.
6 to win of 8 balls, with 4 wickets in hand. To lose it from there is un acceptable. Period.

Boy.... It should be named as Indian Chokers League; MI has slipped twice; DC did it yesterday & RCB almost did it earlier in the day

Ive been saying it all along.
Bangalore was in the same situation (5 runs off 6 balls with 3 wkts in hand) and they made it. Rajasthan seems to be getting pretty good at these last over games.

The moment Abhishek Nayar stepped out to get run out, the game was over.
I would much rather we lost by 9 wickets or 100 runs - those defeats are a lot more palatable. This so near yet so far drill gets overwhelming after a period.

It's hard to pin the blame on Nayar. Sure his run out changed the game, but I think in the last over - Harbhajan could have tried to play it a bit smarter.
One wicket to go, four to get of three balls. He SHOULD have said I'll deal with it from here. Some blame has to lie with him as well.
I'm sure most people would question the batting order, but it was a fair effort actually , but for two runs - ST would have been coined a genius for that move.

No issues with how they played, the batting order or anything else.. Just wondering aloud - how wretched is the Indians' luck that after playing that lost over extra cover, Nayar misses the ball, hits his pad and lobs right next to the stumps for the keeper to effect an easy run out.
9 times out of 10, the hits in the last over would have taken the edge and run off to the boundary or found the gap between the offside fielders ( would have definitely happened if Mumbai was on the field). And yet, when it is Mumbai's turn, the ball unerringly finds the fielders, catches are taken, run outs effected.
We are missing that certain X- factor - call it luck, call it what you will.
It is in theses moments that a game changes.
Right now, I can empathize with the long suffering Red Sox and Cubs fans!

thats the way the game goes dude. just because its mumbai, it doesnt mean they should have all the luck. sure, it hurts. but there is nothing unfair about it.

I know that being Mumbai does not make them special. And I also know that fairness has nothing to do with it.
And I can take the loss. What rankles is that every single time, its a case of so near yet so far.
